The best time depends on where you’re going and what you’d like to experience:
- Tanzania & Kenya: June–October for the Great Migration, January–March for calving season.
- Uganda & Rwanda: June–September and December–February for gorilla trekking (drier trails).
- Zambia & Zimbabwe: May–October for safaris; March–May for Victoria Falls at peak flow.
- South Africa: May–October for safaris; November–March for Cape Town and Garden Route.
- Botswana: June–October for Okavango Delta safaris.
- East Africa (Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda): Warm days, cool nights; rains in March–May and November.
- Southern Africa (Zambia, Zimbabwe, Botswana, South Africa): Dry season May–October (best for safaris), wet season November–April (lush and green, but hotter).
- Vaccinations: Yellow Fever (required for some countries if coming from risk areas), plus recommended shots such as Hepatitis A, Typhoid, and Tetanus.
- Malaria: Present in most safari regions. Preventative medication is strongly advised.

- Tanzania & Kenya: eVisa available online.
- Uganda & Rwanda: eVisa online; East Africa Tourist Visa covers Kenya, Uganda & Rwanda.
- Zambia & Zimbabwe: eVisa/visa on arrival; KAZA Univisa covers both.
- South Africa: Visa-free for many nationalities, others must apply in advance.
- Botswana: Visa-free for many countries; check requirements before travel.
- Tanzania: Tanzanian Shilling (USD accepted in lodges).
- Kenya: Kenyan Shilling (USD widely used in tourism).
- Uganda: Ugandan Shilling (USD accepted for permits).
- Rwanda: Rwandan Franc (USD accepted for tours).
- Zambia: Zambian Kwacha (USD accepted in safari areas).
- Zimbabwe: US Dollar (main currency).
- South Africa: South African Rand.
- Botswana: Botswana Pula (USD accepted in lodges).
Yes — especially in safari destinations. National parks, lodges, and tourist areas are well managed. In cities, use normal travel precautions: avoid walking alone at night and use registered taxis or transfers.

General FAQ
We don’t provide any departure dates for any of our trips because every trip that we cater is private. We provide packages in which you can depart in whichever day you wish to. Every itinerary on our website is customized and can start from any day of the year.
Fourways Safaris & Holidays does not provide group tours for any of our trips. We offer private trips to the customer which means that you and your companions will be the ones whom you choose to travel. The itinerary of every trip is flexible and you can pick from a list of activities and sightseeing for each day. The team of Fourways Safaris & Holidays promises to cater every need of the travelers and ensure a hassle-free travel.
The packages on our website can be easily modified according to the customer’s requirements. The suggested itineraries that are made are all based on destination experience, our own expertise and according to what the guests require. You can either choose a trip from our website or customize it further to meet your interest, schedule and budget. The team experts at Fourways Safaris & Holidays will manage to help you throughout your travel with us.
Fourways Safaris & Holidays does not include international airfare cost in any of our website vacation packages. We do not include any airfare cost because guests tend to arrange their own flights according to their suitability. However, if you want us to arrange flights for you, we are happy to help you in doing so.
When travelling with us, usually your trip will include all the services from the moment you arrive at your destination till your tour ends. From accommodation, transfers to sightseeing and other activities, we provide top services to our clients promising for a memorable trip. Our destinations covered are on a breakfast only basis unless specified. We can arrange other meal option as well according to the client’s requirements.
We incorporate breakfast on all days during the trip followed by some periodic lunch or meals. The safari tour includes all the meals as breakfast, lunch and dinner as you will be in remote territories without café options. Meals are not included as everyone has various tastes. We purposefully do exclude the lunch and dinners from the schedule so as you can discover the taste you like and enjoy the best of African cuisines.
Now the tour guide depends on your travel plan as the guides allotted to each of our travelers have knowledge about the each and every destination. These are the local trained guides who know everything about the city history and sightseeing attraction. These specialists can be trusted to give you the most ideal experience. They very well know where to take you out for touring, which cafes to suggest and what time to visit a particular attraction. You can be rest assured with our exemplary guides who will make your trip worth the while.
